Free Breakfast for all Students
FREE Grab and Go Student Breakfast at OMHS
Starting January 30th, All Olathe Middle and High School Students will receive a free breakfast daily.
Breakfast meals will be distributed by the OMHS Cooks at the entrances of the school. Students are encouraged to take a breakfast at no charge to start their day out right. Breakfast will be served daily from 7:10am until 8:05am at the entrances of Olathe Middle School, Olathe High School and the Bus entrance of the school.
School Breakfast Improves Students Educational Performance:
Students who eat a complete breakfast make fewer mistakes and work faster in math tests than students who do not eat breakfast.
Students who eat breakfast at school, closer to class and test-taking time, perform better on standardized tests than those who skip breakfast.
Students who eat breakfast at school show improved function, attention, and memory.
School Breakfast Improves Students Attendance and Behavior:
Schools that provide breakfast to all students show a decrease in tardiness and suspensions as well as improved student behavior and attentiveness.
School Breakfast Improves Students Diets and Overall Health:
Students who eat breakfast at school tend to have more adequate nutrition intakes and are more likely to maintain a healthy body weight.

We Want to Hear from You - February 8th - Olathe
The Montrose and Olathe School District is hosting a community forum in Olathe focusing on the current state of our local schools on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:30pm at the Olathe Middle/High School. This will be an informative and interactive meeting to learn first-hand how local schools are performing and how we compare to schools across the state. Olathe community members are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting.
